Robert Edward Thrift, 69, of Sumner died Thursday, January 28, 2010, at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Thrift was born on March 8, 1940 in Blackshear and was the son of Lesley Thrift and Pauline Johnson Thrift Coker, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Nolan Thrift; and one brother, James Claude Thrift. He was a retired truck driver.
Among Mr. Thrift's survivors are one son, Tim Thrift, of Sumner; and one daughter; Bonnie Webb of Clute, Texas.
