Ugo “Larry” Iannetti, 87, of Bolton, son of Venturino and Maria (Forlizzi) Iannetti. He was the husband and dance partner of Alice (Mitton) Iannetti who predeceased him in 2003. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Raymond, Victor and Mario. He is survived by his son, Lawrence Iannetti of Boylston and daughter Deborah Iannetti of Rome, Italy, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was born and raised in East Boston, MA, was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy as a radio man on B24 bombers in the South Pacific. He was a technical assemblyman for several electronic test equipment companies, including GenRad and EG&G, before going to work for the MBTA in Boston where he worked until his retirement.
He and his wife Alice were avid ballroom dancers, and met on the dance floor in 1946 in Revere, MA. They spent the next 57 years dancing whenever they could.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 30th at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity St. Francis Xaviar Church, 808 Main Street, Bolton. Burial will follow in South Cemetery, Bolton. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 29th, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749. (www.tighehamilton.com).
