Obituary

Salem: Joseph F. Kerwin age 80 of Salem, died Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the NSMC / Salem Hospital. He was the husband of Claire E. (Arsenault) Kerwin.

Born and raised in Lynn, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Louise (Brewer) Kerwin. Joe was a 20 year resident of Saugus, and during those years served as a Selectman as well as a Chairman of the Board of Registrars. He was employed by General Electric in the turbine business group in Lynn for nearly 42 years. Joe was an amateur radio operator and avid wood worker.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 daughters, Linda J. Kerwin and her husband Michael J. Splaine of Danvers, Kerry A. McConnell of Saugus, Robin L. Goldston and her husband Greg of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, a sister, Louise O’Brien of Lynn, 8 grandchildren, Daniel & David Splaine of Danvers, Bree, Meghan, Adam & Nora McConnell all of Saugus, Rachel & Laurel Goldston of Florida.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem on Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be private.
