Kenneth W. Neelon Sr. of Bellingham, formerly of Franklin died January 25 in his home; he was the husband of the late Shirley (Johnson) Neelon who died in 2004 and the husband of the late Mary (Grant) Neelon who died in 1973.
Born in Salisbury, Mass October 6,1917 the son of the late John and Katherine (Creed) Neelon, Mr. Neelon was raised in Hyde Park and had lived in Franklin for many years before moving to Bellingham 32 years ago.
Mr. Neelon had worked for the Herman Shoe Company (Stride Rite) in Millis for 47 years before retiring as a supervisor.
Mr. Neelon served in the Navy during World War II attaining the rank of Boatswain Mate Second Class.
He had been active in the Medway VFW.
Mr. Neelon enjoyed bowling, refinishing furniture and reading.
He is survived by his children MaryLou Neelon Anderson of Millville, Kenneth Neelon Jr. of Norfolk, Donna Graham of Providence, RI and his stepson Barry Cronin of Liverpool, NY.
He is also survived by his brother Donal Neelon of Newburyport and sisters Katherine Curley of Franklin and Helen MacIsaac of Brookline.
He was the brother of the later John Neelon, Florence Norton and Robert Neelon.
He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held on Friday, January 29 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. in Franklin at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Blaise Church, Bellingham at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Franklin.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
