Obituary

Dorothy A. (Pellegri) Villani 84, a lifelong Franklin resident, died peacefully at her home Sunday January 24, 2010 surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Rocco A. Villani for 62 years.
Born in Franklin, May 11, 1925 a daughter of the late Luigi and Virginia (Cenedella) Pellegri, she was raised and educated in Franklin and was a graduate of Franklin High School, class of 1943.
Until her retirement many years ago, she worked at the former Kendall Mills Company in Walpole as a machine operator.
She was a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens, the AARP, was a lifetime communicant of St. Mary’s Church, and a longtime volunteer for the St. Rocco festival, and at the annual festival held at the Xaverian Missionary Shrine in Holliston. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and also enjoyed cards and playing bingo.
Mr. & Mrs. Villani were married in St. Mary’s Church in Franklin on May 24, 1947.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters Dianne M. Tattersall of Sandwich, Donna A. Colace of Franklin, Deborah A. Lozzi of Centerville, two sisters-in-laws Esther Pellegri and Flora Pellegri both of Franklin, three grandchildren Karen and Matthew Colace, and Joseph Lozzi.
She was the sister of the late Joseph Mimini, Rinaldo Pellegri, George Pellegri, Edward Pellegri and Florence Bartelloni.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Thursday January 28th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. (www.franklinfuneral.com) with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM.
Interment will follow in the family lot in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-8PM.
