Grace E. Jacobs, age 99, a 63-year resident of Winchester, passed away at the Aberjona Nursing
Center in Winchester on Jan. 24th. Born, raised and educated in Wilmington, Vermont, she was the loving daughter of the late George and Sadie (Landry) Jacobs. Grace was a graduate of Springfield Nursing School and the Boston University School of Nursing. She was a retired member of the U.S. Navy, serving 25 years, during WWII, Korea and Vietnam through 1968. She was commissioned as a Commander in 1943. She was a member of the Retired Officers Association, the Boston Group of the Women’s Overseas Service. In Winchester, Grace was an active member of St. Mary’s Parish, where she was a member of the Ladies Sodality. Ms. Jacobs was the dear sister of the late Ralph, Maxwell, Harriet and Marjorie Jacobs and beloved aunt of the late Anita Watson and Philip Scott Jacobs. She is further survived by 7 nieces, 4 nephews many grandnieces and nephews and 2 great grandnephews. Her funeral will be held from the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Friday Jan. 29th at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church 155 Washington St., Winchester at 10AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Thurs. from 4-8PM. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
