Mr. Anthony J. Economou, 79, passed away Thursday January 21st at his home with his family by his side.
He was born March 5, 1930 in Lowell, Massachusetts a son of the late John A. and Constantina (Foussia) Economou.
A lifelong resident, Mr. Economou was a graduate of Lowell High School, and later received his Liberal Arts degree from Boston University. He received his Master degree in Education from Boston University.
Mr. Economou served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He was a teacher for many years having taught locally at Dracut High and Lowell High School.
He was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Lowell. Mr. Economou enjoyed writing novels and friction stories in his free time.
He is survived by his beloved sister, Gladys Economou and his brother Nick Economou both of Lowell, and several cousins.
Friends will be received at the M.R.LAURIN FUNERAL HOME 295 Pawtucket St. Lowell on Monday from 5 to 8p.m. The funeral will take place on Tuesday at 10a.m. from the Funeral Home to be followed by services at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at 11am.
