In Fall River, January 22, 2010 Alfred Borges, age 75, died at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. He was the husband of the late Marjorie (L’Heureux) Borges and Anne (Abbott) Borges. Born in Taunton, Al was the son of the late Louis and Mary Borges. Al was a graduate of Taunton High School class of 1953 and was a member of the commitee that organized the class reunions. He was the owner and operator of Friendly Real Estate and Builders in Taunton. Al was a life time member of the Taunton Lodge of Elk’s, Taunton Rotary Club, past president of the North Bristol Board of Realtors. He loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed sports, playing cards and traveling. Al was the father of Cheryl Medas and her companion Andrew Lippold of Taunton, Alfred Borges Jr. and his wife Paula of Taunton and Brian J. Borges of Taunton. Step father of Karen Fitzgerald and her husband John of Rutland and Michael Cuneo and his wife Ann of Scituate. Grandfather of Casey, Clint and Carly Medas of Taunton, Briane, Chelsei, Michael, Brent and Tara Borges of Taunton. Great Grandfather of three great grandchildren and seven step grandchildren. Brother of Louis Borges and his wife Diane of Taunton, Josephine Ventura of Taunton and the late Joseph Borges, Mary Pimental and John Borges. Uncle of several Nieces and Nephews. Dear friend of Shirley Hebert of Taunton. Calling hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Tues Jan 26th from 4-8 pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Taunton Wed at 11 am. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
