Obituary

Fall River, Beatrice Ann (Cabral) Oliveira died Sunday January 17, 2010 at Kimwell Nursing Home in Fall River after a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving family. She was 83 years of age. She was a longtime resident of Spring St. N. Dighton She was the wife of Albert P Oliveira. She was born in Burlington Daughter of the late Joseph and Annie (Arruda) Cabral. She graduated from Burlington High School and also attended a Technical School for Bookkeeping. Mrs. Oliveira began her career at State Street Bank and then worked at her brothers printing company until her retirement. In her retirement she worked for Sears and won the Customer Satisfaction Award. Mr. and Mrs. Oliveira had been married for 61 years at the time of her death. She and her husband were very active in St. Nicholas of Myra Church in N. Dighton. She belonged to the Ladies Council in the church. She was the past president of the Woman’s Auxiliary Portuguese club in Cambridge for many years. She was also a member of the Woburn Portuguese Club. She helped people from Portugal with their citizenship. She also ran a Folkloric dance group. She taught nutrition to the Council on Aging and cooking and nutrition to the Girls Club. She was a member of the Eastern Star Rose Croix with her husband. She was also a member of the Lions Club in Taunton. In addition to her husband she is survived by one son Daniel Oliveira of N. Dighton, one daughter Judith Skinner of Mansfield She was also the mother of the late Albert James Oliveira. She leaves one sister Helen Cabral of Florida She also was the sister of the late Joseph and Arthur Cabral. She also leaves seven grandchildren Matthew, Daniel, Katherine, Jake, Jennifer, Garret and Shaine and three great grand children Kaylee, Kara Rose, and Mya Daisy. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 11:00am at the Taunton Funeral Home 8 Crapo St. (off Tremont St.) A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12noon at the St. Nicholas of Myra Church in N. Dighton relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours will be Friday from 4pm-8pm Donations in her name can be made to Alzheimer’s Association 311 Arsenal St. Watertown Ma, 02472, Sudan Shriners P.O.
