Panagiotis (Peter) Nikopoulos, 73, of Worcester, died Friday, September 19, 2003. His wife of 41 years, Marianthi (Garalea) Nikopoulos died in 2000. He leaves two sons, Evangelos P. Nikopoulos of Shrewsbury and Stavros P. Nikopoulos of Westborough; a brother, Napolean E. Nikopoulos of Ioannina, Greece; 3 grandchildren; nephews and nieces.
He was born in Aidonohori, Konitsa, Ioannina, Greece son of Evangelos and Peristera (Tzeti) Nikopoulos and came to Worcester in 1974. Mr. Nikopoulos was a self-employed carpenter/contractor for 21 years retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
The funeral was held Monday, Sept. 22, from NORDGREN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 300 Lincoln St., with a service at 10 a.m. at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral Memorial Fund, 102 Russell Street, Worcester, MA 01609 or to VNA of Worcester, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
