Fall River - Raymond E. Manchester, 75, of Westport died at Charlton MemorialHospital on September 22, 2003 after a lingering illness. He was the husband of Jean (McKnight) Manchester, they were married for 47 years.
He was born and raised in Westport son of the late Arthur J. and Elsie (Tripp)Manchester. He spent many years living in several places around the United States as his employment took him and returned to Westport in 1985. He attended the Westport Point United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Westport High School and Bryant College. He was employed as a District Manager by the Travelers Insurance Company, Hartford, CT until his retirement in 1986.
Mr. Manchester was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son: Scott A. Manchester of N.Dartmouth; a daughter: Nancy L. Manchester of Chicago, IL; 4 grandchildren: Benjamin Aubin of VA, Noelle Aubin of N. Dartmouth, Graham Squires of Chicago, IL and Ian Squires of Chicago, IL; 1 great-grandson: Samuel Aubin of VA; and several nieces & nephews.
He was brother of the late Kenneth L. Manchester.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at the Westport Point United Methodist Church, Westport Point.
