In Taunton, January 20, 2010 Edward M. Trucchi, age 83, husband of Irene (Ziomek) Trucchi died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family and beloved wife of sixty happy years. Born in Taunton, Edward was the son of the late John and Mabel (Papazoni) Trucchi. Edward was a graduate of Coyle High School class of 1943, then went on to join the U.S. Navy on the USS Bowfin from 1943 to 1946. Edward was a retired store manager for Trucchi’s Supermarkets at the West Bridgewater Supermarket. He then managed County Street Supermarket, retiring after managing at the Tremont Street Supermarket. He also owned and operated his own grocery store on Kilmer Ave called the Kilmer Avenue Market in Taunton. Edward was a member of the Italian Social Club on Columbus Ave., St. Vincent DePaul Society, V.F.W. post #611 and was a former member of the Italian Naturalization Club on Wales Street in Taunton. Edward was the father of Pauline McGuire and her husband Thomas of Middleboro, Carolyn Burgess and her husband Gerard of Taunton, Edward Trucchi and his wife Susan of Dighton, Mary Ferreira and her husband Michael of East Taunton, Ellen McGovern and her husband James of Taunton and Pamela Violette and her husband Craig of Taunton. Grandfather of Elizabeth McGuire of Norwood, Erin McGuire of Arizona, Thomas McGuire of Allston, Brian and Tina Burgess both of Taunton, Jeffrey Trucchi of Taunton, Hailey Trucchi of Sandwich, Matthew Ferreira of Taunton, Meghan Ferreira of Newton, Jason, Brooke and Lauren McGovern all of Taunton, Melanie and Bailey Violette both of Taunton, Alysa Amaro of N.H., Christopher Robinson of North Dighton and the late Christopher Burgess. He was the great grandfather of nine great grandchildren. Brother of Peter Trucchi and his wife Marilyn of Taunton and the late Arlene Corriveau, Eleanor Nunes and John Trucchi. Brother in-law of Barbara Trucchi of Raynham. Calling hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Sunday January 24th from 1-5 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Taunton Monday January 25th at 11am. Interment at the National Cemetery in Bourne, Ma. at 1:30 pm.
