Peggy B. Wadsworth, 77, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at the Life Care Center.
Graveside services will be held 2 P.M. Saturday, January 23, 2010, in the Evergreen Cemetery with Dr. Mike Ruffin officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Ms. Wadsworth was born January 12, 1933 in Statesboro, Georgia, to the late Joe E. and Ruby Steptoe Brown. She was a graduate of Fitzgerald High School and moved back in 1974 from Savannah. Ms. Wadsworth received her Registered Nurse Degree from the Medical College of Georgia. She was a former Senior Substance Abuse Counselor for Ben Hill County Mental Health and former co-owner of Colony City Drivers Improvement. Ms. Wadsworth was a rancher’ wife and a former nurse in Caliente, Nevada at a girls training center.
She is survived by her son: Lafe John Wadsworth of Fitzgerald; grandsons: Adam B. and Tyler J. Wadsworth, both of Fitzgerald; sister & brother-in-law: Patricia & Bill Portier of Orlando, FL; brother: Joe E. Brown, Jr., of Decatur and a special friend: Robbi King of Fitzgerald. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce M. Wadsworth.
