Ms. Deborah Ann Shanley, age 54, a lifelong resident of Lowell, passed away on Friday January 15th, 2010 at her home in Lowell.
She was born in Lowell on July 17, 1955, the daughter of the late Charles P. Shanley and Mrs. Theresa (Paquin) Shanley, of Lowell. She attended Lowell schools and graduated from Lowell High School.
Deborah was a secretary for many years and worked in various offices in the area. She also worked in real estate. She also did volunteer work at Lowell General Hospital and with Community Teamwork (CTI).
She was a former communicant of the former St. Peter's Church in Lowell.
According to the family, she enjoyed arts & crafts.
Besides her mother, she is survived by a son, Matthew Plante of Lowell; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward & Diane Shanley of Chelmsford, Charles & Michelle Shanley of Lowell, Robert & Suzanne Shanley of Chelmsford, James & Laura Shanley of Billerica; two sisters, Nancy Shanley and Barbara Shanley, both of Lowell; also her former spouse, George Plante of Paris, Maine; she also adored her several nieces & nephews and great-nieces & great-nephews.
She was sister of the late Sheila Shanley who died in 2002.
Relatives & Friends are invited to her Memorial Visitation & Service on Friday Jan. 22, from 9:00-11:00 AM at the M.R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, MA 01854. A prayer service will take place in the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Interment at Westlawn Cemetery at a later date.
