Doris A. (Mosher) Thurston, R.N., 93, of Somerset died Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Somerset Ridge Center. She was wife of the late Alton G. Thurston.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Charles and Myra (Tripp) Mosher, she had lived in Somerset for most of her life. She was a 1937 graduate of the former Union Hospital Nursing School. Prior to retirement, she was a registered nurse at Taunton State Hospital and the Dr. John C. Corrigan Mental Health Center in Fall River. Mrs. Thurston was a former member of the Congregational Christian Church of Somerset.
Survivors include 2 sons: Alton G. Thurston, Jr. and his wife Teresa of FL and Wayne C. Thurston and his partner Conor Mallon of CA; 5 daughters: Judith Riordan and her husband Jack of FL, Marlene Timberlake and her husband Jerry of FL, Joyce Alexander and her husband Michael of Somerset, Marilyn Henderson and her husband Bruce of Somerset and Penny Bouchard and her husband Bruce of W. Warwick; a sister-in-law: Hilda Mosher of Swansea; 18 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Ernine Thornton and Charles G. Mosher, Jr.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be from 10 – 11 A.M. prior to the service.
Interment in Linden Grove Cemetery, Westport.
