Dorothy Frances McKillop, a lifelong Woburn resident passed away at her home on Sunday morning, September 21, following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Duncan W. McKillop who died in 1987. She was eighty-five years old.
Born and raised in the South End of Woburn she was the Daughter of the late Sadie (Gallagher) and Bernard Meehan. A graduate of St. Charles High School class of 1935. Dorothy worked for many years for Dr. Thomas Glennon as a “Nanny”. She later worked at Joe´s Variety on Salem St., and Long´s Auto of Woburn. Dorothy enjoyed bowling, softball and knitting and most of all her family.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her five brothers; James, Bernie, John, William and Edward Meehan.
She is survived by her two sons; Robert and his wife Linda of Woburn, Michael and his wife Ann of Salem, NH., two daughetrs; Ann Martin and her husband Stephen of Woburn, Jane Steinberg and her husband Joel of Burlington. Ten grandchildren James, Jack, and Matt McKillop, Sarah and Katie Martin all of Woburn.Alison and Nicole McKillop of Salem, NH., Jordan, Taylor and Ethan Steinberg of Burlington. Two sisters Mary Bonenfant and Ada Meuse both of Andover.
Her funeral will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, on Thrusday, September 25, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St. Woburn at 10. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invite to attend and may visit the funeral home on Wednesday, September 24, from 4 thru 8.
