Obituary

FALL RIVER … Joan V. Winiarski, 65, of Fall River died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at home. She was the wife of Dr. Bernard Park, D.D.S.
She was born in Fall River a daughter of the late Henry N. and Frances (Czasa) Winiarski and had been a life long resident of this city.
She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Church, Fall River.
Ms. Winiarski was affiliated with the former Rose Hawthorn Lathrop Home for 20 years, Good Samaritans, Hospice, Open Arms of the Salvation Army, and the Haitian Health Foundation. She was a graduate of St. Stanislaus School class of 1957, Mount St. Mary’s Academy class of 1961, and Salve Regina University class of 1965.
She enjoyed knitting, painting, walking and swimming.
Joan will be remembered for her unconditional devotion to teaching kindergarten for forty years in the Fall River school system. Her undying love for children was engrained in her heart and mind.
Survivors include her husband, 4 sisters: Teresa W. Merrill of Portsmouth, RI, Ann Marie Ross of Holliston, MA, Virginia Lowney and husband Dr. Jeremiah Lowney of Norwich, CT, and Frances Plourde of Allentown, PA, many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Henry N. Winiarski Jr. and John Winiarski.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Wednesday at 9AM from the BOYKO MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 709 Broadway, Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Stanislaus Church, Rockland Street, Fall River. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. At the request of the family there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Haitian Health Foundation, 97 Sherman St. Norwich, CT 06360.
