...retired teacher in Dunkirk and Fredonia, NY; 83
TEWKSBURY, MA - Mary Frances (Chard) Repert, age 83, a retired school teacher, passed away Friday, January 15, in Andover, Massachusetts.
She was born in Gowanda, NY, June 12, 1926, daughter of the late Rev. Canon Leslie F. Chard and Sarah (Higham) Chard. She was raised and lived most of her life in the Dunkirk/Fredonia area, but moved to Andover in 2009.
She earned a B.A. in History from the University of Rochester and a B.S in Education from SUNY at Fredonia. She was a teacher in the Dunkirk and Fredonia School Districts for several years.
She was a devoted member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Fredonia, and served on the Vestry of the church. She was a member of the American Association of University Women and the American Contract Bridge League. Her interests included bridge, needlepoint, knitting, gardening, travel, and a fondness for cats.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Elizabeth "Melissa" Repert and her husband Jeffrey Ciano of Tewksbury, Deborah Ann Repert and her husband Mark Dornblaser of Louisville, CO; a sister, Ann (Chard) Foss of Cleveland, OH; a brother and sister-in-law, Leslie F. Chard II and his wife Diane Engber of Cincinnati, OH; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Requiem Mass will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, at 12:15 p.m. in the Church of the Advent, 30 Brimmer St., Beacon Hill, Boston. A memorial service will be held in Trinity Episcopal Church in Fredonia this summer, and will be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Episcopal Church, 11 Day St., Fredonia, NY 14063, or the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701 will be appreciated.
