Augusta, GA. - Mr. Jack Dempsey Napier age 83,husband of Mrs. Doris Beeland Napier entered into rest at Trinity Hospital on Wednesday, January 13, 2010.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Westover Memorial Park with full military honors.
Survivors include, two daughters, Barbara Napier Lett of Oak Harbor, WA, Lynda Jeanne Napier of Atlanta,one step son, Robert Bernard Bailey of Augusta, one step daughter, Carol Bailey Pascarella of N. Augusta. Eight grandchildren, Karen Dianne Lett, Ethan Marshall, Austin Marshall, Cameron Besson, Leslie Leonard, Brett Rogers, Lindsay Bailey, Brandon Bailey, and two great- grandchildren.
Mr. Napier was born in Knoxville, TN. Jack retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of Sgt. 1ST Class. He served in Germany during WW II and in the Korean War. Jack traveled to Iran and Argentina while in the service; during that time he worked in radio communications. After retiring from the military, Jack worked for Westinghouse for a short period of time in the field of Quality Assurance. He then returned to the Army that he loved in a Civil Service capacity at Ft. Gordon, teaching radio communication.
Jack and Doris loved watching Western movies, fishing and camping in the mountains. Jack enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 16, 2010 from 9:30 until 10:30 at the funeral home.
