David Wadsworth , 63
David J. Wadsworth, of Halifax and formerly of Pembroke, died at Tufts Medical Center, after a long illness, on January 10, 2010.
The son of the late Robert and Arlene (Gillis) Wadsworth of Braintree, David was born in Weymouth and grew up in Braintree. David was a 1969 graduate of the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. He was a retired manager in the Massachusetts Department of Employment and Training. A quiet, solitary man, David was always a passionate animal lover.
David is survived by his wife Danna of Pembroke, his beloved children Melisa Wadsworth of South Boston and Andrew Wadsworth of Pembroke, two step-sons, Michael Hession of Carver and Christopher Hession of Kingston, his sister Suzanne (Wadsworth) Waters of Braintree, brother Stephen Wadsworth of Braintree, and mother-law-law Genevieve Johnson.
Funeral services were private. Memorial donations may be made in David’s name to the Scituate Animal Shelter, for abandoned animals on the South Shore, at 780 Chief Justice Hwy, Scituate, MA 02066.
