Andrew Walsh, 92, of Fitzgerald, died Wednesday, January 13, at Pierce County Nursing Home in Blackshear, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Friday, January 15 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Elder Charles Tyson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Walsh was born December 3, 1917 in Coffee County to the late Davis and Fannie Smith Walsh. He was a farmer who lived in Fitzgerald all of his life. Mr. Walsh drove a school bus for the Ben Hill County Board of Education for 40 years and was former employee of B.B. Rodgers. He was a member and Deacon at Old Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Mr. Walsh is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Lewis E. & Bette Walsh of Blackshear; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; sisters: Ethel Barrett of Macon and Ruby DuVall of Lake Sinclair. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annis Hester Walsh, daughter, Priscilla Walsh Davis and a sister, Eva France.
