Rev. Lawrence O’Brien, 80, of Derry, NH died Friday September 19, 2003 at the Mariner Healthcare, Methuen, MA. He was born in Townsend, MA on March 11, 1923, a son of the late Alfred L. and Helena K. (Moore) O’Brien. Rev. O’Brien was a resident of Derry since 1992, formerly living in Medford, MA. He graduated from Gordon College of Theology then continued his studies at Eastern Nazarene College. He went on to the Boston University School of Theology where he received his advanced Theology degree. As a United Methodist minister, Rev. O’Brien was appointed to the churches in the following communities - Charlton City, MA, West Fitchburg, MA, Maynard, MA, Whitinsville, MA, Needham Heights, MA, East Hartford, CT, Hamilton, MA, Wilmington, MA, and most recently Medford, MA.
He is survived by his wife Marion (Miners) O’Brien of Derry, NH, four daughters, Linda Bennett of Whitinsville, MA, Carol Boudreau of Atkinson, NH, Jacqueline O’Brien of Allenstown, NH, Dawn O’Brien of Maine, four granddaughters, Robyn Jewett who was living with Rev. O’Brien and his wife in Derry, Catherine Boudreau, Laura Boudreau, Melanie Davis, one grandson, TJ Vasquez, one sister, Barbara Frazier of West Brookfield, MA, and one nephew David Frazier of West Brookfield, MA.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 24th at 11:00am at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 63 E. Broadway, Derry, NH. Burial will follow in the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody, MA. Friends may call at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry on Monday from 6 - 8 Pm and Tuesday from 6 - 8 pm. In memory of Rev.
