FRANKLIN—Joanne G. (Pepi) Amaral 61, of Franklin, died Monday January 11, 2010 at UMASS Medical Center in Worcester, following a brief illness. She was the wife of John W. Amaral.
Born in Boston, July 3, 1948 a daughter, of the late Franklin M.V. & Irene T. (Livingston) Pepi, she had resided in Natick for many years, before moving to Franklin over 20 years ago.
She was raised and educated in Natick, and was a graduate of Natick High School class of 1966, and continued her education at Boston University where she received a bachelor of science degree in 1970.
For over 15 years she worked as a registered nurse at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick.
Her interests included: reading, music, cooking, traveling to Cape Cod and gardening. She also cherished time spent with her family.
She was a member of the Boston University Alumni Club and St. Mary’s Church.
In addition to her husband of 33 years she is survived by two daughters Kristen I. Browne and her husband Patrick of Charlton, and Jennifer J. Amaral of Milford, two sisters Diane P. Gauthier and her husband Scott of Franklin, and Carolyn P. Kizielewicz and her husband James of Hopedale. Also surviving is a grandson Connor M. Browne, and her nieces and nephews, Daniel and Lara Gauthier and Jillian, Nicole and Ryan Kizielewicz.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Friday January 15th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. (www.oterifuneralhome.com) with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin at 10AM.
Burial will follow in the family lot at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Attleboro Falls, MA.
