Doris J. "Dottie" (England) Kerr, 75, of East Freetown died Monday January 11, 2010 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Elliott Rodman "Sam" Kerr with whom she shared 51 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Walter and Doris (Burding) England, she lived in Freetown most of her life.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending craft class at the Freetown Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include her four children, Judy Koumanelis and her husband Alex of Mystic, CT, Michael Kerr and his wife Tracy of Lakeville, ME, Daniel Kerr of Springfield, ME, and Elizabeth Brugger and her husband David of Maine; a brother, Walter England and his wife Barbara of Arizona; two sisters, Ethel Nelson of Framingham and Mary Baptista of New Bedford; a brother-in-law, David Dalrymple of Florida; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
