Mr. Gordon “Jim“ Evans, 57, of 323 Evans Road in Shelburne, NH passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, ME. He was born in Berlin, NH on September 29, 1952 the son of Gordon T. and Dorothy I. (Milligan) Evans and was a lifelong resident of Shelburne, NH. He worked as a truck driver for Coleman Construction and prior to that was employed by Currier Trucking for 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting and fishing, snowmobiling and was a hot rod enthusiast. He was a member of the Coos County Cruisers and White Mountain Cruisers and was also a member of the Historical Society in Shelburne.
Members of his family include his wife Lucy (Croteau) Evans of Shelburne; his daughters Fallone Evans of Westport, CT and Rebecca Evans of Stratford, CT; his twin sister Vera-Ellen Evans of Torrington, CT; a niece Allyson (Huff) Reese of Radcliff, KY; and great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister Marilyn Huff.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St. in Gorham, NH. Interment will be in the spring. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 PM.
