Obituary

Bernard C. Anderson, 68, recently of Braintree, MA died Friday September 19, 2003 in the Braintree Manor in Braintree, MA. Bernie, as he was known, was born in Lynn, MA on September 26, 1934 the son of the late Charles R. and Mary Rose (McLarnon) Anderson. He had resided in Danville, NH for 10 years, formerly living in Derry, NH and Pelham, NH. Bernie graduated in 1952 from St. Mary’s High School in Lynn, MA. He served with the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He held membership with the American Legion. Bernie worked for many years at Advo Systems in Hartford, CT, and was the vice president of Beacon Communications in Acton, MA. Bernie was also affiliated with RCR Graphics in Pelham where he founded the State Line Express Newspaper. He later went on to establish “Friendly Faces” which published the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce Newspaper. Bernie was also a former member of the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by two sons, Michael Anderson and his wife Teresa of E. Bridgewater, MA, Daniel Anderson of Nashua, NH, four daughters, Mary Anderson of Derry, Ruth Paul and her husband Brian of Derry, Patricia Cook and her husband Scott of Pelham, Eileen Higgins and her husband Laurence Higgins, Jr. of Milford, 10 grandchildren, two sisters, Rosalie Anderson of S. Boston, MA, Rita Weeks of Lynn, MA, one brother, Robert Anderson of Temple City, AZ, also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Paul Anderson and his sister, Patricia Anderson.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday Sept. 22nd at 10:00am in St. Patrick’s Church, 12 Main St., Pelham. Burial will follow in Gibson Cemetery, Pelham. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry.
