WORCESTER-Mary Elizabeth (Savage) Tarckini, 71, of Worcester, passed away Friday, January 8th in UMass Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving and devoted family after an illness. She leaves her loving sister, Virginia (Savage) Deely of Worcester, her devoted children, Michael A. Tarckini, Sr. of Shrewsbury, Steven J. Tarckini and Karen A. Tarckini, both of Millbury and Jessica Mary (Menard) Roy and her husband Andrew of Worcester; four grandchildren, Michael, Ashley and Danielle Tarckini of Auburn and Emily Fields of Millbury; two grand dogs, Jaeger and Saydee; and several nephews and nieces.
Mary was born and raised in Worcester, the youngest child of Victor J. and Helen E. (Hurley) Savage. She was a graduate of the former High School of Commerce. Mary was employed by the Willis Center, providing foster care for many children over 12 years, retiring in 2005. She had previously been a nurse’s aide at several area nursing homes. In her younger years, Mary was active in Scouting, serving as a den mother to Pack 41 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
The funeral is Wednesday, January 13th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, January 12th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
