Obituary

John W. Kelly, 80, of Bedford, died at Catholic Medical Center September 18, 2003 after a brief illness.

Born in Manchester on August 29, 1923, he was the son of John and Anna (Cavanaugh) Kelly.He was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish.

Mr. Kelly served in the United States Navy from 1940 to 1946, and was assigned to the Pom-Pon S-267 a submarine unit stationed in Australia.

He graduated from Hesser Business College in 1947, and worked for the Travelers Insurance Co.

In 1950 he established his own agency The Jack Kelly Insurance, and continued as its President until his retirement in 1985.

Mr. Kelly was an avid golfer, and a fifty year member of the Manchester Country Club. He served as the Country Club President from 1971 to 1972.

He spent his leisure time traveling, and reading non fiction books.

Mr. Kelly was predeceased by his brother Richard Kelly.

Family members include his wife of 56 years Theresa (St. Onge) Kelly, of Bedford; two sisters, Mary Cotton, of Newton MA, and Rita Walsh, of Manchester; several nieces nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be Sunday afternoon from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday September 22, 2003 in St. Elizabeth Seton Church 190 Meetinghouse Rd. Bedford.

Encryptment followed in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd. Manchester.
