Thomas Kenneth Zorn, 82, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 P.M., Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. Keith Goodlett and Rev. B.J. Funk officiating. His nephew, Roger Brown will give the eulogy. Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery, Turner County. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
Mr. Zorn was born May 13, 1927 in Turner County to the late Emmett Calvin and Mary Elizabeth Kendrick Zorn. He was a United States Navy Seabee during World War II. Mr. Zorn was retired owner of Ben Hill Truck & Tractor Company. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
Mr. Zorn is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Lutricia Z. & Ross Murphy of Rocky Mount, NC, Nicki Z. & Jerry Kearley of Birmingham, AL and Marguerite C. Zorn of San Antonio, TX; companion: Anne G. Smith of Fitzgerald; grandson and his wife: James T. & Jennifer Murphy of Raleigh, NC; sisters: Lounelle Brown of Ashburn and Opal Watkins of Jacksonville, FL as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Central United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 428, Fitzgerald, GA 31750 or to donor’s favorite charity.
