METHUEN – Sr. Florence Falardeau 77 died Tuesday January 5, 2010 at the St. Claire Residence at the Presentation of Mary.
Sr. Florence Falardeau, also known as Sr. Michelle du Saint Sacrament, was born in Holyoke, MA on July 21, 1932, daughter of Wilfred and Marie Rose (Roy) Falardeau. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in Hudson, NH on February 10, 1952, and pronounced her religious vows on August 15, 1954.
Sr. Florence received a B.ED degree in education from Catholic Teachers College in Providence, RI and her M.ED in Administration from Rivier College in Nashua, and 30 plus hours in Guidance Couseling. During her 55 years as a religious, she was an elementary school teacher in Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont. She was the local Superior in Maine and Massachusetts as well as the Principal. She was a guidance counselor at the Presentation of Mary Academy in Methuen.
She is survived by two sisters Lucille Flynn and Adele Roberts, two brothers Fr. Ernest Falardeau and Leon Falardeau and his wife Eveline.
She also leaves her sister-in-law Anita and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 2:00p.m. – 4:00p.m. and 6:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at the St. Claire Residence at the Presentation of Mary 209 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30a.m. at the Presentation of Mary Chapel with burial in the Presentation of Mary Cemetery in Methuen.
