TALARICO, Joseph Arthur (Joe), of Little Egg Harbor, formerly of Paramus and Brick, NJ on January 5, 2010. Loving husband of 57 years to Irene. Father of Lori Talarico of Hawthorne, Kim Talarico of Avenel, Jolene Smyers and her husband John of Forked River, Charlene Talarico of Paramus, and Jackie Salazar and her husband Otto of Lincoln Park. He is predeceased by his son Joseph Jr of Paramus. Loving “Pop” of Keith, Melody, Ruby, Xavier and Jade. Brother to Paul (deceased), Raymond and Bob. Master to his best furry friend, Jack.
Joe was a health inspector for the town of Paramus and the County of Bergen in the 1960’s and owned Joe’s Place Deli in Dumont in the 1970’s. He was also a dedicated staff member of the Paramus Mountettes Drum and Bugle Corps in the late 60’s and 70s and at one point was the Corps Director. Joe was also a member of the American Pool Association and spent several years in semi-pro competition in the Howell area where he won several trophies. Joe loved seafood, fishing, boating, and the Jersey shore and was able to fulfill his lifelong dream of living his last years in a house on the water. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Joe’s life on Friday, January 8, from 2-4 & 7-9PM at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Rd., Oradell (201-261-1088). A mass will be held on Saturday, January 9, at 10AM at Our Lady of the Visitation RC Church, 234 Farview Ave., Paramus. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the New Jersey Special Olympics, 3 Princess Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
