Obituary

James P. “Pop” Walsh of West Roxbury, formerly of Norwood, passed away on January 2, 2010. He was 83 years old.

Born in Norwood, Pop was a 1943 graduate of Norwood Senior High School. Following high school, Pop joined the United States Coast Guard and served as a Radioman 2nd Class in Alaska during World War II. After the war, Pop went on to work as a clerk in the United States Postal Service for over 30 years.

Pop was the dear and devoted husband of the late Marie (McNeil). Loving father of James S. Walsh and his wife Michelle of West Roxbury and Edmund P. Walsh of West Roxbury. Loving grandfather of Michael J. Walsh, James C. Walsh, and Timothy J. Walsh, all of West Roxbury and Bridget and John Walsh of CA. Dear brother of the late Edward Walsh and Helena Corrigan. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Pop's Funeral Mass was held at St. Theresa of Avila Church on Friday January 8, 2010.

Interment at Highland Cemetery in Norwood.
