Obituary

WAYLAND:, SONIA TRABUN ARSOVE on December 31, 2009, beloved wife of the late Melvin Winworth Arsove of Wayland. Devoted and forever cherished mother of Jan Trabun Arsove of Wayland, Sally Trabun Arsove of Ottawa, Canada, and Ellen Lincoln Arsove of Tampa, Fl. Loving grandmother of Alexander and Ann Burhoe, Amy and Leith Shenstone, and Nicolas and Leif Guillermo. Daughter of her dearly beloved parents the late Abraham and Anna Trabun of Boston. Devoted sister of the late Sam Trabun of Spokane, Washington. A chemist by training graduated from Simmons College, her early career was as a research chemist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute where she met her husband, and at MacLean Hospital where she worked with Jordi Folch where they discovered a new brain strandin. Her later career was at the Sloan School of Management, MIT where she was Assistant Editor of the National Tax Journal under the late Professor Daniel Holland. The family's heartfelt thanks go to Sonia's doctors and the staff of Emerson Hospital, including Doctors Keevil, Dubois, Barkin, Butler and Kennedy; Parmenter Health Center and its wonderful staff of nurses and social workers; and Keystone Homecare including Sonia's devoted nurses and nurses aides. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
