Marie Y. Gamache 81, formerly of Congress St. died Saturday at St. Antoine Residence in N. Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Edgar D. Gamache. Mrs. Gamache was born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late Joseph and Cordelia (Nadeau) Lambert. She worked as a molder for the former Miller Electric Co. for twenty years before retiring in 1990. Mrs. Gamache was a member of St. Joseph's Church, and St. Joseph's Senior Citizens. She enjoyed bingo and crossword puzzles, but her greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughters.
Mrs. Gamache is survived by two sons, Paul R. Gamache and his wife Sandra, and Ronald R. Gamache all of Woonsocket, two granddaughters Christine and Michelle both of Woonsocket, a brother Richard Lambert of Ocala, FL, three sisters Simone Dutremble of N. Smithfield, Muriel Mitchell of Hopedale,MA, and Claudette Grenier of New Port Richey, FL. . She was also the sister of the late Wilfrid Lambert and Georgette Desautels.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9:30 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph's Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. A private burial will be held at a later date. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Antoine Community, 10 Rhodes Ave., North Smithfield, RI 02896-6999 in her memory would be appreciated.
