Obituary

Foster Benjamin Finn Sr., 88, loving husband of Dorothy Finn and loving father and grandfather, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010.

He was born in Bramlett, KY and grew up in the Kemp, KY community of Adair County, where he was a member of Picketts Chapel Methodist Church. He was the son of the late Simon and Gertie Finn. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Air Corps after an active duty that began on February 8, 1943 and ended December 1, 1945. He proudly served during WWII and was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with four bronze service stars, a good conduct medal and a WWII victory medal. He retired as an electrician from the Dept. of Engineering and Housing at Ft. Knox. He had also worked in the Army Medical Research Laboratory at Ft. Knox. He was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church and Fairdale DAV-Chapter 6.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Isaac Austin Finn; and a sister, Jean Gordon.

Other than his wife, the former Dorothy Davis, Foster is survived by his loving children, Ben Finn (Jan) and Beverly Vincent (Gary); grandchildren, Seth Finn, Zack Finn and Bridgette Boyer, and her father, Lee Boyer; brothers, Thomas Clifton Finn and David Finn; a sister, Margie Golden; and a host of other relatives and many friends from his church.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Thursday at Bethany United Methodist Church, 6100 Mormon Road with burial to follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.

Visitation will be 2-9 pm (Louisville time) Tues. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville St., Columbia, KY 42728 and 2-9 pm Wed. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.

Memorial contributions are suggested to either Bethany United Methodist Church, Louisville, KY or Picketts Chapel Methodist Church, Columbia, KY.
