John J. O'Neil, 89, of Londonderry, NH, formerly of Lowell, MA., died on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH. Mr. O' Neil was born in Lowell, MA., on November 2, 1920 a son of the late Timothy and Margaret (Ford) O'Neil. He was a US Navy Veteran having served during WWII and was retired from Raytheon. Mr. O'Neil loved spending time with his family especially the time spent together around the pool. He was an avid Red Sox fan and had a special love for animals.
Family members include one son, Dennis O' Neil and his wife Ruthann, one daughter, Karen Manning and her husband William, two grandchildren, Kristin Manning and Todd Manning and his wife, Caitlin. Also, one great granddaughter, Elizabeth Grace Manning, one sister, Marguerite Kmiec, several nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Helen A. Callahan. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Elizabeth (Kozlowski) O'Neil, one sister, Elizabeth Krowchun Price and one brother, Paul O'Neil.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jude's Parish, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the ASPCA. Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Derry and Londonderry is handling the arrangements.
