Obituary

WORCESTER__John E. “Jack” Wickson, 86, formerly of 18 Wendover Road, died Friday, January 1, 2010 in Lutheran Healthcare Center of Worcester. His wife of 58 years, Evelyn R. (Ritacco) Wickson, died in 2006. He leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. John is predeceased by a brother, Leo Wickson and three sisters, Janet Levine, Alice O’Hearn and Bella Ducharme. He was born in Worcester, a son of George H. and Cecelia (Plante) Wickson and lived here all his life.
Mr. Wickson worked as a machine operator at the former US Steel and US Envelope Company. He was a WWII veteran serving in the US Army. He attended St. Joseph School. John was a founding member of the Southern Mass Beagle Club and former member of the Eastern Mass Beagle Club and the Paskamansett Beagle Club of North Dartmouth. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
The funeral will be held Monday, January 4, from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church at Holy Family Parish, 35 Hamilton St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Worcester County Memorial Park. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Sunday, January 3, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
