Whelan,Shirley A. (Sadler), 54, of Louisville, passed away December 30, 2009 surrounded by her family.
Shirley was a retired teacher from the Bullitt County Board of Education where she taught for 22 years.
She is preceded in death by her father, Samuel "Ray" Sadler.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Mike Whelan; two daughters, Devon Gilbert (Michael) and Brittany Whelan; Mother, Wanda Sadler; four sisters, Peggy Greenwood (Jerry), Connie Lehman, Teresa McGinty (Ronnie), Elizabeth Flanery Alvin); mother-in-law, Marion Zareo; two sisters-in-law, Linda Cooper, Shirley Evans; two brothers-in¬law, Larry and Ronnie Whelan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 12pm Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Bethany cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 12pm-8pm at the funeral home.
