Obituary

Marvin "Bud" Watts, 86 yrs. old, former resident of Hingham, passed away peacefully at Life Care Center in Scituate on Dec. 23, 2009. He leaves behind his wife Barbara, daughters Cheryl Peretiako and husband Michel, Catherine Rood, Nancy Watts, Janet Gay and husband Sterling, son James Watts and wife Christin, step-daughter Linda Nixon and husband John, and step-son Glenn Morrison and wife Cathy. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

A resident of Hingham since 1949, Bud had most recently resided at Sunrise Assisted Living in Cohasset, MAss. Born in Lomira, Wisconsin and a University of Wisconsin graduate, he had worked for over 40 years at Proctor and Gamble Co. in Quincy, Mass. Besides being a WWII veteran, serving as a 2nd lieutenant in the 13th Airborne Division, he was also very active in his community, serving at various churches. He was on the Board of Directors of South Shore Hospital, Chamber of Commerce, volunteered as a Hospice caregiver, participated in the Walk for Hunger, served as a member of the Hingham Republican Committee, and enjoyed boating.

Funeral services will be held at The Hingham Congregational Church, 378 Main St. (Rte 228) on January 3, at 1 p.m. with a reception there to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to either South Shore Hospital or South Shore Hospital Hospice Program, 55 Fogg Rd., So. Weymouth, MA 02190 would be greatly appreciated as these charities were near and dear to Bud's heart.
