Glen A. Whitney, 76, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2009, at Wing Memorial Hospital, Palmer. His wife of 52 years, Lois (Van De Mark), passed away in 2008. He leaves 4 sons; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and their families. He also leaves 1 sister, and was predeceased by 1 brother and 5 sisters.
He was born in Orange, son of William W. and Alberta V. (Lackey) Whitney. Glen attended Worcester Boys Trade School and proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He worked as a letter carrier for the post office and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 11 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church. Calling hours will be held Monday, January 4, from 5-7 p.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street. Burial will be private in All Faiths Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Good Samaritan Fund, 73 Lancaster St., Worcester MA 01609.
