Florence (Bourcier) Thibedeau, 101 of Franklin died December 29 in the Blackstone Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Frederick A. Thibedeau who died in 1989.
Born in Whitinsville, November 23, 1908 the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Delina (Goyer) Bourcier, Mrs. Thibedeau lived in Bellingham for several years before moving to Franklin in 1938.
Mrs. Thibedeau went to Framingham State College in 1958 and graduated in 1962 with a degree in Home Economics.
She taught in Sharon for a year and then taught Home Economics in North Attleboro Jr. High School and North Attleboro High School for 18 years before retiring.
She had been a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Women’s Club. Mrs. Thibedeau loved to travel.
She is survived by her daughters Louise F. Thibedeau of Franklin, Helen M. Ferrarini of Chesapeake City, Maryland and Marie A. Fonseca of Vineland, New Jersey.
She was the sister of the late Victor, Clarence, Peter, Charles Thibedeau and the late Claire Thibedeau.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, January 4 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. Franklin at 9:15 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 5-8 p.m.
