Dorothy M. (Pinkham) Thompson, 97, of Methuen died on Friday December 25, 2009 at The Nevins Nursing Centre, Methuen. Mrs Thompson was born in Medford, MA and was raised and educated in Malden, MA. she lived many years in Melrose, Ma. and since 2005, Dorothy resided at The Berkeley Retirement Home, Lawrence. Dorothy loved to travel, sit on her front porch and spend time visiting with family and was a good cook.
The widow of Warren S. Thompson, her family members include her children, Warren R. Thompson of Sanford, ME, Charles F. and his wife, Sue L. Thompson of Methuen and Carol F. and her husband, John Desmond of Melrose, Ma. She also leaves her grandchildren, Karen (Desmond) Williams of Wakefield, MA, Robert Desmond of Waltham, MA and Andrew Thompson of Stockbridge, GA and her great grandchildren, Michael Williams, Sarah Williams and Emily Williams all of Wakefield, MA.
Friends may call on Thursday December 31, 2009 from 10 to 11 am in The Searles Chapel of The Berkeley Retirement Home, 150 Berkeley St., Lawrence. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am on Thursday at the chapel. The burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to The Forest Street Union Church, Forest St., Methuen, Ma. 01844 or to The First Church Congregational, 26 Pleasant St., Methuen, Ma. 01844.
