New Bedford – Edward R. Wheeler, 71, of Rochester died at the Oaks on December 27, 2009. He was the widower of Louise J. (Burke) Wheeler.
Mr. Wheeler was born in New Bedford, son of the late Frederick F. and Elizabeth B. (Gifford) Wheeler, and resided in Rochester most of his life. He was a graduate of Bristol Community College. He was employed as a machine shop foreman by J.C. Rhodes and later as the C shift production supervisor by L. M. Gerson Co., Inc., Middleboro until his retirement.
Survivors include 2 sisters: Clara Balkcom of FL and NY and Margaret Ward of GA; a brother: George Wheeler of New Bedford; and several nieces & nephews.
He was brother of the late Frederick, Harry and Arthur Wheeler.

Funeral from the Kirby Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 9:30 A.M. followed by services at the First Congregational Church of Rochester, 11 Constitution Way, Rochester at 11:00 A.M.
Interment in Rochester Center Cemetery.
