Anne I. Oja, 94, of Bedford, NH died December 28, 2009 at Hillcrest Terrace Retirement Community after a period of declining health.
She was born on November 8, 1915, in Worcester, MA, the daughter of Peter and Amanda (Kotro) Koski. She was educated in the Worcester school system and received her degree from Becker Junior College in Worcester. She had resided in Bedford for the past 54 years.
Early in her career she had worked as a secretary for the Mayor of Worcester and also worked for the Red Cross during WWII. After moving to the Manchester area, Anne had worked in the law office of Norman Plante and retired after many years of secretarial work for John McLane at the McLane Law Firm.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and spending time with her family. She loved spending her summers at their family’s lake house on Lake Winnipesaukee in Moultonborough.
Her husband of 65 years Reino Walfred Oja died in 2005.
Family members include her daughter and son-in-law, Carol A. and Stanford Pow of Bedford; one son, Robert P. Oja of Meredith; three grandchildren, Kimberly Howe and Kristen Cushman of Bedford and Michael Oja of Manchester; four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Saturday, January 2, 2010 in the funeral home chapel.
