Betty Sherriell Bridwell Jarrell, 68, of Patterson, formerly of Tifton, died Sunday, December 27, 2009, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Keith Brown and Bro. Nat McCalvin will officiate with burial to follow in Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Worth County. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Jarrell was born on June 22, 1941 in Worth County and was the daughter of James Monroe Bridwell and Jo Lee Hemphill Bridwell, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy McCalvin; and two sisters, Billy Jo Bridwell and Brenda Swails. She was a homemaker and worked in the secretarial field most of her working years. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Jarrell is survived by her husband, Curtis Eugene Jarrell of Patterson; three children and their spouses, Gina and James Massey of Olathe, Kansas, Angela and Rev. Keith Brown of Patterson and Chad McCalvin of Cordele; two step-children and their spouses, Christopher and Karry Jarrell of Blackshear and Dreama Langley; one brother, Bobby Bridwell of Fitzgerald; one sister, Bennetta Oliver of Boise, Idaho; six grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Southeast Cancer Unit in Waycross or the American Red Cross with money or blood donated in Mrs. Jarrell’s name.
