WORCESTER-Kathleen A. "Kay" Foley, 88, of Worcester passed away December 23, 2009 at Rose Monahan Hospice. She was the daughter of former Worcester Police chief Major General Thomas F. Foley and Mary O’Donnell Foley. Kathleen leaves a brother, Paul E. Foley Sr. of Auburn; nieces Patricia Pratte and her husband Paul of Auburn, Joan Kreimer and her husband Tony of Virginia Beach, VA, Susan Jamieson and her husband Michael of Glasgow, Scotland; nephews Paul E. Foley Jr. and his wife Ginger of Manhattan Beach, CA, Jack Foley and his wife Robin of Worcester, Rick Foley and his wife Ann of Auburn, Vincent "Don" Foley and Mark Foley of Beverly, MA, Thomas Foley and his wife Mary of Westerly, RI, Robert Foley of Hawaii; and great-nieces and great-nephews all across the world. She was predeceased by her brothers John, Robert, Thomas, and Vincent. Kathleen also leaves a close childhood friend and college roommate, Marie Carroll O’Brien of Manchester, NH.
She was born in Worcester and worked for several years at Guaranty Bank and Trust Company in the Credit Department. Kathleen was a proud graduate of Regis College and was actively involved in alumni activities for Regis over several decades. For many years, she also volunteered at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, where she was one of the founding parishioners of the church. She loved being at Misquamicut Beach in the summers with her family. Being with her family was always a central theme in Kathleen’s life.
The funeral is Tuesday, December 29th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 11:00 AM St. Andrew the Apostle Church. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30 until 10:30 in the funeral home. Donations may be made in her name to Regis College, 235 Wellesley Street, Weston, MA 02493.
