Joseph A. Ieronimo, 86, of Halifax died Wednesday December 23, 2009 in the Copley at Stoughton surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Bessie (Lambert) Ieronimo. He was born in Brockton, son of the late Nicholas and Josephine (Papa) Ieronimo.
Joe was a longtime resident of Hanson, before moving to Halifax 14 years ago. He worked at Fernandes and other supermarkets for 17 years and was a real estate agent for 20 years.
In his early years, he loved to ski and has always enjoyed playing cards and most of all he loved being around his family.
He is survived by his children Donna Swanson and her husband Keith of Halifax, Lisa McIver, of Marshfield, and Dina Ieronimo and her companion Michael Miele of East Bridgewater, his bother Nicholas Ieronimo of Middleboro, his sisters. Virginia Bradbury of Middleboro, Carmela Ibbitson of Halifax, Lucy Pierce of Whitman and Joanne Ieronimo of Brockton; also 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Dennis Ieronimo and brother of the late Mary Parsons.
His services will be held on Monday December 28th at 8:00AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9:00 AM , in the Our Lady of the Lake Church 575 Monponsett St.,RT 58, Halifax, MA. Burial will be in the Central Cemetery, Halifax. His visiting hours will be held on Sunday December 27th from 2:00-6:00.
