Mary Torrance Tucker, age 87, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at the Yalobusha County Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. She was born to the late Willie and Sarah Holt Torrance in Yalobusha County, MS. Mrs. Tucker joined Bason Chapel M.B. Church in Water Valley, MS where she served as an usher for many years. Later, she joined Parrish Grove M.B. Church in Oakland, MS where she remained a faithful member until her health failed.
The visitation will be held Saturday, December 26, 2009 from 9 a.m. until service time at Mount Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Coffeeville, MS with the funeral service at 10 a.m. with Rev. J. C. Hentz presiding. The committal will be held in Mount Every Cemetery in Coffeeville, MS.
She leaves to cherish her memories; a devoted great-nephew, David Lynn Bland and his wife, Brenda Evett Bland; their two sons, Lyntonio Dontreal Bland and Antonio Lynshaun Bland of Water Valley, MS; one sister, Mrs. Hortense Clark of Grenada, MS; one sister-in-law, Pearline Torrance of Rockford, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Lawson and Carl Tucker.
