Obituary

Carol I. (Armitage) Armstrong 70, of Franklin, and a former Bellingham resident, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday morning December 22, 2009, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Richard F. “Dick” Armstrong Sr., well known area businessman, who died in 1996.
Born in Plainville, May 23, 1939 a daughter of the late Thomas B. and Ida M. (Perry) Armitage, she was raised in Plainville and was educated in Plainville and Wrentham.
She retired as vice-president of the family owned and operated business Nu-Style Jewelry Manufacturing Company in Franklin and Lady Carol Jewelry Company of Woonsocket.
She was devoted to her family, and was a past president of the Franklin Country Club Women’s Association, was a State Class C Champion of the Ladies Golf League in the early 1990’s, was a diehard New England Patriots fan, and enjoyed trips to Foxwoods. She was also a longtime communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Franklin.
She is survived by a son Richard F. “Rickey” Armstrong Jr. of Mendon, two daughters Dianne A. Soulnier of Schellburg, Pennsylvania, Kim L. Jordan of Franklin, with whom she lived, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Mark A. Armstrong of Mendon who died in 2008.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Tuesday December 29th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin (www.franklinfuneral.com), with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin at 10AM.
Interment will follow in the family lot in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Calling hours are Monday December 28th, from 4-8PM.
