Tilton– Peter Kowalczyk, 94, died December 23, 2009 at the NH Veterans Home in Tilton.
He was born in Manchester on July 9, 1915 the son of Paul and Mary (Bayko) Kowalczyk.
He was educated in the Manchester School system and graduated from Manchester Central High School. He excelled in many sports most notably swimming.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy on the USS Sante FE and USS Shamrock Bay.
Prior to his retirement he had worked for the Chicopee Manufacturing Company, and was also a NH Fire Custodian.
Family members include a brother Andrew Kowalczyk of Springfield PA., 6 nieces and nephews and several cousins.
Services: A calling hour will take place on Monday from 10 to 11 AM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St. Manchester. Funeral services will be at 11 AM following calling hours in the funeral home.
Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
